The funnest thing I do is photograph pets! What other job gives you licks and snuggles as a bonus? I love dogs, cats, horses, bunnies… Basically anything furry.

What kind of person invests in professional portraits of their fur babies? Well, this girl, for one! I’m an empty-nester. My daughters are my world, but they’re off living their own lives now. My daily companions are my dogs Jake and Bindi and my cats Jinky, George, Fred, and Cookie. They’re the ones who greet me first thing in the morning. They’re my daily companions. They’re the ones who keep my disabled husband company while I’m at work. They’re our family and we love them. Large wall canvases of my daughters fill my walls and albums, but we also have lovely portraits of our dogs and cats on the wall. Many of my clients are also empty-nesters. They love their people family, but their fur family is the one they spend their days with. Our pets are important!
I have clients who are young, professional couples who haven’t yet started their families. Their pets are their families and they treat them that way. They want the best for them. They want portraits of them. And, of course, families with kids and pets! Many of my family portrait clients have children and pets and want portraits of all of them. They wouldn’t consider a family portrait without the fur babies in it!
PET PORTRAIT SESSIONS – how does it work?
Sessions take place in your home or at your favorite location (where do you like to hang out with your furbaby?). For home sessions, I can set up a backdrop for a “Studio in Your Home” session or we can use your home’s decor as a natural backdrop. Sessions can be posed or “lifestyle”, showcasing play and snuggle time. Your pet can be the star or we can focus on you and/or the whole family interacting with your pet. During our pre-session consultation, we will discuss all the options and plan everything, so I know I’ll be creating images that you will LOVE!
My sessions are a stress-free zone. I often refer to them as play time because they are so fun! I have lots of tips to help you get you and your pet ready, so don’t worry about a thing.
Ask about my JOY SESSIONS, celebrating your precious pet at the end of his/her life.
