public relations * marketing
What a mess! Does the Internet Highway seem more like 5 o’clock
traffic in downtown Houston when they’re doing construction and two main
highways are closed? Blogs, Facebook, Twitter, your website… what to
do? Should your
business even be online? Well, your customers are.
Marketing has changed. The days of your
prospect waiting passively for you to market to him or her are long gone.
Now, customers are pro-active. They’re researching companies and
brands, building relationships, and sharing what they learn with their
online friends. Companies that use social media to meet, interact, and
build friendships with their prospects (not just “sell to”) have a greater
chance of achieving success in this every-changing market.
For over 20 years, I have been extolling the benefits of INFORMATION
MARKETING and RELATIONSHIP MARKETING. The beauty is that these two
strategies fit very nicely into the world of internet marketing. They are
designed to put you out there as an expert in your field, kindly sharing
your expertise, and building those relationships. The internet – websites,
blogs, social networking sites – is simply another form of media to get
the word out. So Who am I? Like, you, I am a small business professional, and
I know exactly what you're going through! I've been working for myself successfully for the
past 20 years. I know there is a lot that you like about your business
(I hope that you are working in a field that you are passionate about,
like I am). I also know that there are a lot of things about your
business that you probably don't like. For many professionals, the thing they don't like
is marketing.
I get it! I'm pretty good at marketing other people's passions; not as
good at marketing my own. It's hard to "toot your own horn." For some really smart people, writing is just hard
- it doesn't come naturally. They don't want to deal with it. Or maybe,
you don't have the time to deal with it. After all, you ARE running a
business. Isn't that why we're chatting? I'm guessing that you found this page because you
either
know that you need help with your marketing, or you're
thinking that you
might want help. You're wondering 'can this person really help
me?' I think I can. I'd love to find out more about
your business and see how we can work together to make your business grow.
Let's determine where you are and where you want to be. Then, we'll see
how I can help you get there. I have a lot of experience in marketing and public
relations. I'm a skilled writer. But, more importantly, I have fun helping
other businesses grow and prosper. I work with businesses about
which I can get excited, and I enjoy watching them succeed! INFORMATION MARKETING & RELATIONSHIP MARKETING Click here to find out more details about these strategies and how they can help grow your business.
Put it Online
- the power of the internet! Social networking, internet marketing, and online
public relations have taken over the marketing industry in the past few
years. They are effective, cost-efficient, and
powerful techniques that allow businesses to get more personal with their
clients/customers, to develop relationships, and to create a strong, word
of mouth marketing machine through loyal clientele. It's hard to
imagine that online marketing is still relatively new. When I first
started working in public relations, it wasn't even an option! Hard to
believe. BIA/Kelsey research group found that 97% of consumers use online media when searching for local products or services. Surprisingly, the fastest growing group now using social media isn't the kids - it's adults aged 35-64.
Ford didn't introduce its latest car at an auto show - it debuted the
Explorer on
facebook!
Local businesses benefit from a smart phone in every consumer's hand and
the rise of location-based apps and services.
Online media should be at the top of your priority list for marketing
your business. A marketing shift with the rise of online media is that "the message" is not controlled entirely by business anymore. With traditional media, a marketer broadcast a message that was received by the consumer. It was strictly a one-way communication. Now, consumers seek out the message through their social media networks; they react and communicate back to the marketer (sometimes negatively). This shift brings many advantages, but like any change, it brings questions and concerns. You can either take the time and effort to learn all of these new media strategies (which are constantly changing), or you can outsource your marketing to someone who specializes in it.
Do it Yourself? Or Outsource? As powerful as these new internet strategies are - they are perfect for information marketing and relationship marketing that I was talking about earlier - they can be confusing and time-consuming for busy professionals. You know that you should be keeping a blog and posting to Facebook and following up with comments from your target market, but who has time? If you have the time, how do you know what to say? Have you tried writing a news release or bio about yourself? It's hard! Why is it so difficult to brag on yourself? How do you do it without seeming arrogant? Outsourcing your copywriting and marketing
coordination to a professional is the perfect solution.
I can help.
In addition to
relationship and information marketing, I specialize in
guiding small businesses and professionals through this new online maze of
marketing techniques, planning and implementing online public relations
and social networking campaigns, including developing, writing, and
maintaining blogs, newsletters, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media
pages for busy professionals. Do you have a web site? I can even help you make sure the web search engines can find you, using SEO copywriting and keywords! (My photography website consistently ranks in the top five and often ranks #1 when you google my keywords.) SEO (Search Engine Optimization is an ever-changing process. My technique combines SEO with content writing that pleases the search engines as well as your prospects and customers.)
But that's not all, I can help you with your offline marketing as
well, including news releases, media relations, photography, and much
more.
I can do this work for you, so you can focus on your business.
