Introducing…Your Digital SLR Camera! A new workshop

Did you get a digital SLR camera for Christmas? Do you already have one that’s never been off “auto”? Digital SLRs, such as Nikon D5000 and the Canon Digital EOS Rebel, bring advanced features to amateur and hobby photographers, but all the buttons, dials, and menus can be confusing!

In this basic 2 hour workshop from Deb Evans Photography, I will walk you through the basic features of your camera and advise the best settings to use for common photo situations.

Who is this class for?
You thought that buying a more expensive camera would automatically improve your photographs, but, not so much…
You love taking pictures, but becoming the next Ansel Adams is not your goal.
You like the pictures you’re taking, and you are ready to try out some of the features of your camera and get it off of “auto”.

What you’ll learn:
basic photography techniques, including composition
lens characteristics and which lens works best in different situations
basic information about exposure [shutter speed, f-stop, ISO]
what the different modes/styles are and the effect they have on your images; metering modes; white balance settings
basics of using natural light and improving your flash photography
saving images, sharing, printing
